9.5 month dr. appointment

Ben had his 9 month check-up with Dr. Abbott today... all is ship shape!

He's 29 inches long and weighs 21 lbs 13 oz.

This weekend, we found ourselves quite social as we went to the Cottage Hospital Summer Picnic, had a pool date and had some friends for dinner on Sunday night... here's a few faves...

Ok, and I just have to share with the world the most amazing cucumbers from my garden!

They have all been this big! Ben is loving the cucs!

Remember when eating corn on the cob was this fun?

Ben discovered a new food item today... corn on the cob!

We were at our friends, the Lovan's today (Julia is Ben's best buddy) and she whipped out this little secret for the babies & Ben loved it! (& I'm sure it feels great on their teeth!) This will fast become a Ben favorite ~ I'm heading to get some corn on the cob tomorrow to have on hand! The BONUS: Ben sat still eating this and gnawing away for 1/2 hour. Probably a record since he was born! Here's a video of the kiddo's having fun eating their corn together! Thanks Diana! :)

New place to eat

Ben loves sitting up high when he eats, so we've been using the travel chair on the counter. He loves it and we don't have to drag around the big high chair. Isn't he so cute sitting up like a big boy? :)

A Surprise Wedding!

We were invited to a "garden luncheon party" at our friends, Chuck & Deb's house on Saturday... once we arrived, we quickly realized that something was going to happen and it wasn't just going to be gardening or just lunching! The scene was absolutely beautiful - not a beat missed... the food was delightful and the energy was awesome!

About a half hour later, Chuck's best friend busted out into the garden, announced that Chuck & Deb were going to be married right there with all of us there, surprised (sort of surprised - they have been together for about 5 years and they are a beautiful couple - Ben was probably surprised, but Steve & I weren't) :)

Anyway ~ Steve was IN the wedding (should have shaved that morning dude) and Ben was also in the wedding... (the smallest boutonnière you've ever seen) :) It was such a delightful, organic, in the moment afternoon party/wedding. We were honored to be there... congrats you two! :)

The Guensler's

We had houseguests this week -- a college buddy of Steve's and his family, Scott, Diana, Derek & Sarah were out here from Florida and they came up to SB to hang with us for a few days & officially meet Mr. Benjamin. We had a full house with kids everywhere and it was a blast! Great dinners & lots of ping pong, and Derek introduced us all to a new game, called WATER pong! (looked alot like Beer Pong - http://www.gotpong.com/beerpong/rules/) Ben fell big time for Sarah.... look at how cute this family is! Thanks for coming guys... hopefully Derek will be attending UCSB after his senior year at High School & we can keep an eye on him! :)

Steve recently had an eye dr. appointment and got his eyes dilated.
The sexy glasses that he had to wear home became hours of entertainment for Ben!

9 months later....

We were at Fiesta today with our friends Shannon and Dave and Colin Miles. We became friends with these guys randomly in the dr's office while Shannon and I were both about 9 months pregnant. (Colin is about 3 weeks older than Ben). Check out how our little dudes are growing. The first picture is when Ben was 2 weeks old and Colin was about 5 weeks. The second one was taken today!

9 months

Ben is 9 months old today... He's been OUT of the belly as long as he was IN the belly!

His latest favorite activity is climbing stairs... he can officially do all the stairs in our house at one time. Check out our little buggy getting his stairmaster workout!
