Zack's up & running

Well, not quite running, but he is now pulling himself onto his knees and occasionally his feet. He then gets stuck, looks around, freaks out and starts screaming hysterically. Although it's quite funny and somewhat cute, the repetitiveness of this little activity gets old quickly. :)

The Roberts Family

We have known the Roberts family for a long, long time. Steve and Debbie used to run the camp that I directed, as well as run the ropes course that both Steve and I used to work on. On top of that, they are both mentors in our lives as well as their girls were in our wedding 7 years ago!

As happens with life, they moved up north, we had 2 kids and life continues to spiral. We hadn't seem them in a long time (well, Steve and Steve do consulting work together) but our families hadn't been together in a long time (Debbie had never met Ben OR Zack)!

So, last weekend we headed up to their house, about an hour 15 away... and had such a lovely pool afternoon topped off with Steve's fabulous BBQing and Debs fabulous cooking. It was awesome - totally wished they lived closer because their darling girls (Clara & Hannah) are now old enough to babysit our boys and they all got along so so well. Warmed my heart. Love!

Minnesota in the Summer

We spent another 3 weeks in Minnesota in August and man oh man did we cover a lot of ground. I went with the boys, Steve came midway through and we all returned together! One of the best things about being at my parents is exemplified in this picture below... long and winding roads and woods to meander through. It was also my 20 year high school reunion, so much celebrating was done along with running my first 5k (and Steve's running of yet another 1/2 marathon). Lots of family time, Swimming time (Ben finally ventured down the big waterslide), playing racquetball with Uncle Matt, watching caterpillars turn to butterlflies (he named the caterpillar Big Ben and watched over it carefull for 14 days until it became Benjamina!) :) Had such a great time - thanks grammy & poptop!
